Network Consultant

Job Description

Network Knowledge Inc., is seeking a Network Consultant to provide local businesses with computer support in the greater Portland and Lewiston & Auburn areas. Candidates must be MCSE certified and have exprience with Small Business Server configuration and implementation. An important part of this position is maintainting postitive relationship with clients. The candidate should have the ability to work autonomously, problem-solve and follow-up on tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Install and configure Microsoft Windows 2003 servers.
  2. Provide on-site and remote technical expertise and general support for hardware and business specific software.
  3. Make recommendations to address and resolve computer and server-related problems.
  4. To respond to and follow-up on client requests.
  5. Maintain and monitor backup/recovery of all server data.
  6. Administer and maintain Active Directory.
  7. Document efforts and update logs for on-site visits.
  8. Purchase equipment and software to meet the needs of clients.
  9. Participate in rotational on-call support.
  10. Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be MCSE certified
  • College degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years experience supporting server 2003 environments.
  • Previous experience as a computer consultant preferred.
  • Must be familiar with Back-Up Exec, Exchange, IIS, Group Policies, WINS, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present ideas in user-friendly terms.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to interact with a clients in a professional manner.
